We are inviting Grade 12 learners and their guardians to share a personal email address for the learner in addition to the official UCT OHS learner email.
This personal email will be used only for:
Delivering the learner’s Grade 12 certificate if guardians cannot be reached.
Staying connected through the UCT Online High School Alumni Network (if the learner chooses to join).
All formal school communication will always continue to go to the learner’s UCT OHS email address while they are enrolled.

Log in to the Guardian Portal.
Navigate to the Learner Details section of your Portal as displayed below.
Locate the Personal Email field under your learner’s details and press "Edit".
Enter or update the learner’s personal email address.
Click Save changes to confirm.

Log in to your Learner Portal using your UCT OHS email credentials.
Navigate to your profile picture and press on the "Profile" option.
Find the Personal Email Address field.
Enter your personal email address and click "Update Details".

Providing a personal email address is optional.
This email will not replace your official UCT OHS email.
You can edit or remove your personal email address at any time through the relevant portal.

Q: Do I have to provide a personal email address?

No. All formal communication will always continue to go to the learner’s official UCT OHS email address while they are enrolled.

Yes. Guardians can update this on the Guardian Portal, and learners can update it on the Learner Portal.
Q: Can the same personal email address be used for multiple learners?
Yes. If you are a guardian with more than one Grade 12 learner, you may enter the same personal email for each learner.
Q: What if I make a mistake when entering the email address?
You can return to the Portal at any time to update or correct the information.
Q: Who can see this personal email address?
Only UCT Online High School team members who manage certificates and alumni communication will access this information. It will not be shared publicly.
Q: Will the personal email replace the UCT OHS email account?
No. The learner’s UCT OHS email remains the primary account for all academic and school-related communication until graduation.
