How to Transition to and Use the Browser Version of The Invigilator App (TIA)
This article explains how to access, set up, and effectively use the browser-based TIA platform for exams and assessments.
The Invigilator App is an essential software tool designed to ensure a secure and monitored environment during exams. It operates in conjunction with the TIA web browser version and the Invigilator Agent, working together to provide a seamless and reliable assessment experience.
Why the Transition to a Browser Version?
The primary reason for this transition is to minimize bugs and technical issues associated with the older desktop application, ensuring a more streamlined and efficient experience for learners using the TIA platform.

Log into Your School Account: Open Google Chrome and log in to your school or UCT Online High School (UCT OHS) account (often referred to as your Valenture Online Account).
Locate the TIA Web App: The Invigilator App might already appear on your Chrome homepage or in your list of Chrome Apps. Alternatively, visit the TIA web application directly via this link: TIA Browser Version.
Log in to TIA: Use your existing UCT OHS email address and password. You do not need to create a new account for the browser application.
Install the Invigilator Agent: Once logged in, follow the platform’s calibration steps and download the Invigilator Agent. Depending on your device, select the appropriate version for Mac or Windows.
Finalize Setup: After installing the agent and completing the steps, restart your device if the application does not appear immediately. Ensure that you are logged into the correct school account.
Ensure that both the Invigilator Agent and the TIA browser version remain open throughout your test to maintain supervision and functionality.
